Case Summary
Crash Type Vehicle to vehicle
Configuration Angle/sideswipe
Summary Vehicle 1, a 2001 Volvo S 60, was traveling northwest on a three-lane, one-way roadway. V1 entered the left turn lane to go south on intersecting roadway and contacted the left side of V2 a 1929 Duesenberg Phaeton. V2 was traveling southeast in lane two on the same roadway. Upon impact V2 overturned right side leading two complete turns ejecting all five unrestrained passengers. V1 came to rest facing southwest. V2 came to rest on all four wheels facing north.

V2 was towed from the crash scene. Three of the five passengers were fatally injured, the other two were transported to an area trauma center.
